Visions Festival
One of the coolest alternative music day festivals in the country, Visions is for both those who are repelled by camping and people who are charmed by music fests of all kinds. Beginning with the now-traditional amateur dog show (this year judged by singer/songwriter Katy J Pearson, who will later perform) and crowned by a performance from dream rockers Spiritualized, you’ll be able to see a slew of hyped alt artists across Hackney in between. From record heatwaves in Europe to flooding in the US, this summer has once again seen the climate crisis upend both the world around us and how we view it. Reshape aims to put Black creatives at the forefront of the UK’s response via a new partnership between the Southbank Centre and Apple. A month-long audiovisual installation, it casts an unsparing light on what’s been lost for communities of colour and what can still be saved. Sobering but vital stuff. Wednesday 19 July – mid-August. Madrí Excepcional
Madrí Excepcional, the Mediterranean-style lager, is bringing ‘El Alma de Madrid’ or the soul of Madrid to London’s BOXPARK Shoreditch on Sunday 16 July with an all-day celebration of Spanish and British culture.
