HAPPY WORLD EARTH DAY

We are on a mission to provide the people of London with a greener lunch/dinner option that is better for the planet and also tastes delicious! At atis we are constantly reviewing how we operate, which suppliers we use and are scrupulous to fine-tune every detail to make it as eco friendly as possible to help protect our planet. In time for World Earth Day, we wanted to share a few of our methods with you!

WASTE

Reducing waste is a constant goal we are aiming to beat. Through turning the tops and tails of our veg into delicious SKU’s like this season’s Zero Waste Greens, to our partnerships with Too Good To Go and First Mile, we aim to make sure our waste is minimal or is used for good!

PACKAGING 

With grab and go salads you may think we’d struggle to find an eco-friendly option, but this isn’t the case. We use fully compostable pulp bowls and lids made from 100% recycled plastic which can then be recycled again. Our cutlery is also made from vegware – a plant-based compostable material meaning your knives and forks are never made from single-use plastic that might otherwise take years to biodegrade. 

SEASONAL MENUS

For all those true atis fans, you may have noticed that our menu changes from time to time. This is so we can make sure we are using seasonal ingredients within our bowls such as our spring greens and seasonal raw slaw’s. With an abundance of delicious British veg available we make sure to highlight the best of English veg and reduce our carbon footprint.

Not only do we rotate our menu to fit the seasons; we are also on a mission to get more people eating more plant-powered food. It’s better for our planet, better for our bodies and, most importantly, delicious! Increasingly, people are making the move towards a plant-powered lifestyle and we want to facilitate this transition.

UNIFORM 

Now we’re really getting into the fine detail, but that’s how it should be! Choosing to work with like-minded brands is key to us, which is why we work with impact trading cotton roots to design our uniforms from our T’s to our aprons. 

Impact trading has sustainability and ethical production at the forefront of its mission, and champions initiatives like donating inner cardboard tubes from fabric rolls to arts and crafts clubs at local schools, or donating their unwanted garments to Willen Hospice. Where they can they try to find a use for all their scrap material and are currently working to reduce the use of plastic in their packaging. Working with brands that are passionate about the same causes as us is important to us, which is why we always carefully select who we partner with!
